Figs are in season!
For me, figs are the perfect fruit to use in savoury dishes, as they are not too sweet.
I would like to share this simple but delicious fig recipe with you as it is versatile. You can serve it as a simple lunch, finger food with aperitif or a night snack on watch.
GRILLED FIGS WITH DANISH BLUE ON TURKISH BREAD
What do you need?
• 4 portions of Turkish bread
• 4 figs
• 1 tsp. of honey
• 8 slices of cheddar
• 60 grams of crumbly blue cheese (Roquefort or Danish blue)
• Pinch of freshly cracked black pepper
Preheat the grill on 200 ⁰C.
Rinse the figs and cut into 4 parts.
Slice the bread into 2 halves, which gives you 8 pieces of bread in total.
Put a slice of cheddar on top of each piece of bread.
Place a couple of figs on top of the cheddar.
Crumble the blue cheese over the figs and cheese.
Drizzle some honey over the figs.
Sprinkle with cracked pepper.
Place under the grill for 3-5 minutes.
